Jack Morton Detroit* is looking for a dynamic, motivated individual to join us in a Creative Director role.  This role leads the overall creative process for varied Jack Morton’s clients with a focus and expertise in diversity marketing and multicultural audiences.   This role will work with other internal creative, account and production staff and partner agencies to develop experience for our clients, including any mix of experiential activations, large meeting development, videos, interactive and graphic in a live, virtual or hybrid format.  The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conceptual development of campaigns, experiences and activations
  • Development of short and long form editorial in support of program definition, promotion and execution
  • Conceptual design and creative oversight of visual and video content
  • Development of proposal presentations for client review and approval, including visual support, as well as other ongoing overview presentations
  • Collaboration with the broader Jack Morton team and outside partners to deliver world-class creative executions

Remote locations are welcome for the foreseeable future.  Permanent remote work is to be determined in the future

Here's the job:

Creative Development

  • Support the development of creative strategies and innovative solutions that deliver compelling brand engagements and solve the client’s experiential marketing and communication challenges, with particular emphasis on authentic multicultural reach
  • Work with Jack Morton brand leaders and account teams to present creative concepts to clients in a manner that is professional, passionate and polished
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and creative partner to the broader team and clients

Flawless Execution

  • Work closely with other creative directors, designers and account team members to ensure on-brand design, accurate message content and alignment with the brand platform
  • Follow concepts through to execution to maintain concept integrity, while communicating consistently with on-staff and freelance producers to ensure timely delivery of creative materials and flawless onsite execution


  • Support a culture and environment that is conducive to collaborative creative development by making sure all participants are heard and respected, resulting in superior creative solutions
  • Stay abreast of cultural events and trends that affect our client’s audiences
  • Collaborate with the broader creative team to provide consistency across all brand activations

What we require:

  • 10 years of creative experience in the conception, development and execution of consumer engagements and related media in areas such as event marketing, auto shows, business theater, and exhibit design
  • Deep understanding of diversity marketing and experience in reaching multicultural audiences
  • Strong conceptual skills relating to brand marketing, video development, consumer engagement and interactive technologies
  • Excellent creative and artistic presentation skills
  • Ability to bring initial concepts to life through presentation and visual software platforms
  • Must possess excellent time management skills and have a sense of urgency; proven ability to work on multiple projects at any given time
  • Demonstrated creative competencies: client focus, accountability for results, organizational sophistication, ingenuity and communicating ideas
