Job Description

We're looking for a Junior Product Designer with strong creative instincts and a graphic design background to contribute to the ideation and creation of our lifestyle and apparel products. This person would work under the direction of our product design team to assist in executing visual ideas that connect to a greater seasonal concept, while contributing to the overall creation of the line through surface design, packaging, and sample reviews.


  • Contribute design ideas for ban.do lifestyle collections.
  • Help create and maintain packaging files.
  • Follow and carry out design direction given by product designers and/or Product Design Manager.
  • Participate in sample reviews and design reviews as needed.
  • Clean up and maintain outside art files.
  • Make updates to surface and product design files as needed.
  • Create technical files for ban.do gift products, including but not limited to items in drinkware, desk accessories, paper, outdoor, and tech.
  • Organize and maintain all sample libraries, including but not limited to products, swatches, and references.
  • Create two-dimensional CADS under the direction of the Product Design Manager.
  • Review all art files for correctness and communicate changes to teams in LA and BG.
  • Order samples, references, and materials, as needed.
  • Run errands (pick up print orders, for example).
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures outlined in ban.do’s employee handbook.
  • Any other tasks that may be assigned to meet company goals.
  • Assist Production Artist with file set up, asset organization, product information.
  • Assist Product Design Manager in product development communication between remote offices.

  • Available full time.
  • Graphic design background.
  • Strong interest in product design, packaging design and typography.
  • Illustration or surface design skills a bonus.
  • Highly organized.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Curious, quick learner.
  • Comfortable working in Google Apps.
  • Comfortable in a deadline-driven department.
  • Able to take direction and prioritize tasks.
  • Must be a team player.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employee must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and occasional evenings / weekends as demands dictate.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time to work on the computer.
  • Strong verbal skills (proficient in English).
  • Must be able to effectively hear in person and via telephone.
