Sr. Content Strategist + Editor Company: Culture Brands
Location: Remote/Anywhere in the U.S. Position type: Full-time Salary: 75k-100k (commensurate with experience)

Overview: Culture Brands is a Black and woman owned media company dedicated to authentically representing and celebrating African Americans. Under its own platforms, such as Because of Them We Can, Culture Brands reaches millions of people monthly, inspiring a wide range of audiences through culturally relevant and affirming content that amplifies Black excellence.

Our Sr. Content Strategist + Editor will tackle a new digital content challenge every day. As a leader of our editorial team, you’ll collaborate with our marketing team, ad specialists, and creative production designers to achieve Because of Them We Can’s (BOTWC) platform goals and tell the right story from start to finish.

You’ll make an impact on the BOTWC brand by:

  • Partnering with internal team members to develop and execute a content strategy for Because of Them We Can that aligns with the platform’s goal to be a leading source of inspiration and information for Black excellence past, present and future.

  • Serving as the storytelling strategist to ensure that the content strategy and its respective channel strategy (website, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok etc) allows for optimal audience engagement and growth.

  • Leading the BOTWC brand voice and community building strategy across our owned and shared channels.

  • Developing campaigns and concepts for branded and unbranded content that aligns with the platform and our respective partners’ goals.

  • Writing and editing copy and articles for grammar, punctuation and flow

Must-have qualifications:

  • First and foremost, great energy. This type of work excites you and you take that everywhere you go
  • A self-starter and highly motivated individual
  • 5-7+ years of relevant work experience
  • A predisposition toward brave and bold ideas and then executing against them;
  • Experience writing editorials, social copy, and overseeing a brand voice;
  • Comfort tracking performance, receiving feedback, and addressing written edits;
  • Familiarity with email marketing, digital strategy, and current industry best practices;
  • A mind for both finding the right words and articulating the thought behind them; and
  • Passion for advocating for the AA community
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and to delegate work effectively
  • Experience managing a team

Nice-to-have qualifications:

  • Experience reviewing and optimizing based on digital metrics is a plus.
  • Experience in producing branded content is ideal.
