We’re seeking a Social Media Manager to join our team. This position will report to the Sr. Director, Growth & Engagement.

As the Social Media Manager, you will define strategy and execute copy and imagery for our organic social media channels with the goal of increasing audience awareness, engagement, and acquisition, with a particular focus on our educator community. Channels include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube. A creative marketer, with education chops, you are on top of social media trends, conversations in the education space, and know how to iterate for and report on success.

You will manage our growing community of educators across social media and route queries in partnership with the Customer Success and Educators teams. You will also participate in and drive conversations with said community. You will use platforms including Hootsuite, Sprout,, and Google Analytics to perform job functions and track success.

Your contribution will make an impact on the awareness and engagement of BP’s social media channels, with measurable traffic back to our website. Thereby, increasing the cadence and quality of BrainPOP's direct line to its customers and prospects; this will be measured by social KPIs including followers, reach, impressions, platform-specific engagement, and traffic generated on social channels.

In this role, you will:

Define and develop BrainPOP’s social media strategy Develop social media campaigns that support our institutional marketing campaigns Develop and converse with our educator community Write copy for social media posts across all of our channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube Create visuals for social media posts using Sketch, Photoshop, and Quicktime Maintain an editorial calendar Stay informed on social media trends in the education space and continuously monitor competitors Respond to customer queries and participate in our community Perform minor administrative tasks related to calendaring and documentation Operate platforms including Hootsuite,, SEMRush, and Google Analytics Work cross-functionally with departments including Customer Success, Educators, Product Marketing and PR Use research and industry best practice to make judgments about social content, iterating based on analytics You Are

An articulate communicator with strong writing skills A skilled multi-tasker who is quick to learn new programs and tools Excited to contribute to BrainPOP's mission of empowering kids to shape the world around them and within them Deeply knowledgeable about the needs of educators Empathetic to the remote learning challenges for our community of educators and parents/guardians. 3–5 years of social media management experience (preferably for an education brand) Preference for experience in the education sector, engaging with admins and teachers Experience with design tools Experience with analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) Experience with social media management tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Sprout Social) Experience with community management Nice-to-Haves

Knowledge of digital marketing best practices and how social media fits within them Experience with and passion for edtech/education Life at BrainPOP
